The World Can Be Helped Too

World and helping go hand in hand.

The world is a big place.  The world needs our help.  This week let’s talk about how we can help on a bigger scale.  How can the world be helped.

Remember how last week I asked you what makes you happy, or what are things you like to do?  Go back to that list.  Now, perhaps you like sports.  Did you know that there is a world wide volunteer organization that helps kids play sports.  It’s called Right To Play.  Right To Play helps countries that may not have resources or funds to gain access to sports equipment so they can play soccer, or basket ball.

Some of the world wide volunteer organizations that I have found in a google search have been started by kids!  So please do not think that just because your children are 9 or 11 that they are not able to help on a bigger scale.  They can, and have.  This website has a a list of organizations that are all about volunteering, that have been started by kids!

Girls helping in a kitchen volunteering.

Thinking back to when I was in school, I volunteered in my community yes, and when within Girl Guides, we did projects that sent things to other countries around the world.  To help other girls play, or just be a kid.  We thought it was a fun thing to do, it was like having a pen pal around the world.

Speaking of pen pals, I had one for a long time, in England.  It was fun to write to her and see what was happening in her part of the world.

Being a happy helper around the world can bring so much joy to your daughters.  If you want to expand and let your daughter learn about helping others in the community and the world then consider signing her up for our programs!  Check out the tween program here.  Or the teen program here.

Helping in the Community

Giving back to the community, helping or volunteering is something that I have always enjoyed doing.  And YES!  I know you can too.

Make a list of what you like to do that makes you happy, and then go out and find places in your community that are looking for volunteers for the community.

Example, if you like sports, how can you volunteer and be a happy helper at an event in your community.  I’m thinking about tennis for an idea.  If you play tennis and enjoy it.  What about volunteering at a competition as a ball runner?

Do a search on the internet for your community and volunteer opportunities for you.  There are ways you can look for your own unique categories, even by youth/adult.

Check out this video below of my vlog for the week with other ideas on how you can help in your own community!  Yes you can!  I believe in YOU!

April = How will you help?

How will you help?

How will you help?

So now it is April!  Wow!  Got a question for you, what do you think of when you hear the word ‘help’?  Also…….where did the first three months of the year go?  Have you seen some changes in yourself?  How are you choosing to be brave, to be yourself?  For April we turn and focus on others, how will you help others.

We touch on helping others in our community, and on a global scale.  I will share some places where I have helped in person, here in Calgary, and then getting to stretch.  Thinking on where you can help on a larger scale.

Yes I’m talking about helping on a global level.  You can do it, it may take some imagination.  Helping others on all levels take some thinking outside the box sometimes.

There one word that I’m suggesting that we will dive into more next week, and that is the word happy.

Many kids volunteer and help others all over their community, it can be big or small.  My parents had me volunteering and helping others in many ways even when I was young, still in elementary school.  It felt good to help others.

There are ways people can help that are not money related either.  We’ll discover those ways as well this month.

Help others world wide!

Help others world wide!

I know you may be thinking you are small.  Yet everyone helping bit by bit can bring together many small things into one big awesome thing that will help many.

Will the real you please stand up!

Cinderella’s shoe made of glass

So we’ve come to the end of the month again!  Wow!  Where has time gone?

What are you doing different this month to be more you? Let’s review shall we?

Have you tried new things?  Are you different on the weekend than you are during the week?  And remember being you is all about a choice.

I sometimes do not dress the same way that I do on the week day, than on the weekend.  And that is perfectly okay. Being you, is being comfortable in your skin, and letting others see you, the real you.

It’s time to stand up and be seen for who you are.  And your friends/family will support you.  I went to see the new Cinderella movie this past weekend.  There is a scene towards the end of the movie, about Cinderella meeting the Prince after the ball.  She’s worried about meeting him.  As she fears because there is no Fairy God Mother magic that he will not like her the same.  Cinderella chooses to have courage and let’s the Prince see her as she is with no magic.

Cinderella chose stand in her own magic of being herself, being seen.  The Prince of course remembers her and well you know the end of the story “they all lived happily ever after”.

Keep being YOU.  I believe in YOU being the best you in the world.  As there is no one else in the world like you, so celebrate and create magic where ever you go.  Believe in magic!

If you want help with being you, then reach out to me.  Let’s connect, and I know I can help you break free from your own blocks to be the best you in the world!  It’s time to stand up in your own power too just like Cinderella!

Weekend you…

What do you choose on the weekend?

What are you like on the weekend?  Are you different from your Monday to Friday way of being?

I know for me I am sometimes different on the weekend, choosing to stay in my p.j.s sometimes all day.  Or other times I will get up and go out for a walk in the warm weather.

Some times on the weekend I do have to go out and work with a client.  So then again I have an early start to my day, and I do other business work on the weekend too.  Many times I choose to go grocery shopping on the weekend, or go out to see friends.

What ever you choose to do on the weekend make it a great time.  For many the weekend is a time for reflection, and being with family.

Have a look at this video below, and let’s have a conversation on what we are like on the weekend.

If you want to dive deeper into this choice of being YOU for yourself or your daughter, then reach out to me and let’s connect!  I promise you that things will change.  Click here to send me a message!

What have you observed?

So this week I would love to know what you observed as you went about your week?  What did you see when you looked at people walking down the street?  I find it fascinating how so many people are just blending in, going with the flow.  Are they really being themselves?  Or are they fitting in?

I heard a great line about being a sheep and following the pack.  Or another story about how being a peacock in the land of penguins.  The fable of the peacock wanting to shine his beautiful feathers, yet all the penguins wanted him to be like a penguin.  Watch the full story here:

What did you think?  What have you observed others walking in your school?  Is everyone fitting in?  Or do people do something to stand out?

Where do you want to be?  In the land of penguins, or the land of opportunity?

I know for me when I first started being in business, I did wear colour and such, yet it was a friend of mine and a Managing Director for eWomen Network that told me to be more me.  So that is when I started wearing fascinators in my hair.

Choosing to be YOU

This month’s theme is all about being YOU!  How does that look like in your world?  What are you choosing today?

Watch this video below and then let me know how you are choosing to be YOU today!

Life is full of choices, you have many to make per day!

One thing is for certain though, every choice has an outcome, it could be positive or negative.  It’s all up to your decisions in your heart and also your head.  Choose wisely!

All about being…

Be YOU!!!

Welcome to March!  Awesome!!  How was your February?  Where in your life were you being bold?  Remember being bold is a choice.

This month let’s dive in to who you are, and how you are celebrating being yourself!  However that looks like to you!  I love Dr. Seuss, his witty messages and wisdom is always amazing.  And he’e right, there is no one alive who is youer than you!

Who you are is unique.  No one can take that away from you.  This month we will discover how you can be MORE you!  I can remember a fellow woman in business say to me a few years ago now “Aime, would you be more YOU please.”  I took a little bit to think on this, and digest it.  What did she mean to be more me?  I thought I was being me in the first place.

Being you is also about slowing down, and figuring out what makes you happy, what you like and love to do.  My parents gave me a plaque a number of years ago now that says “Let what you do be what you love.”  Are you?

Remember you are free to be you!  Love this song from Francesca Battistelli “Free To Be Me”

Bold Topic Summary

How will you be bold in your life?

How will you live in your life?

So let’s look back at what we talked about this month.  All about being bold.  Remember that being bold is a choice, it is about being different, and being yourself.

I chose to be different by doing the one video for you in my p.j.’s.  I also make choices each day on how much I want to be seen in the world.  There are times that I just want to crawl in my bed and hide.

Watch this video summary, and then comment below on how you are going to live in your world starting today.  Why not today?  The world is waiting for you to show up and be seen today!  Even if that looks like you speaking your mind, wearing a sparkly top, or changing the way you walk to school.

I believe in YOU!

To be bold is a choice

Being bold is a choice.  I chose to be bold most of the time.  Sometimes I choose to be quiet, and introspective on myself.  Some days I wear my sweatshirt and a ball cap.  Blending in with others.  And yes there are even days when I do not want to be seen, I want to hide in my blankets and shut out the world.

To be fully me is to accept all emotions and actions of myself.

We all go through emotions on a daily basis.  Some times many in the first half of the day.  You are allowed to feel all your emotions, all your quirks, for this is what makes you YOU!

Choose to be bold, what ever that level is for you!

Being bold is a choice, on how much you wish to express yourself.  When I am working during the day at my day job, I do not wear the feathers in my hair that often.  I am still being me though.

Think about how your emotions and level of ‘boldness’ how you are each day.  Start a journal or check list to track how bold you are in the day, and post below how your tracking is going.  Celebrate each level.

Where are your emotions?

Here’s an idea do a 1 – 10 boldness ranking, circle the number that suites you today, and then write a sentence under on how/why you felt that way.  Notice what has been going on in your world, and in your environment.  Notice how you are feeling too.  If not notice yourself being under 3 for a few days in a row then think what is going on, and how can you change this to a 5 or 6.  Remember change takes time, and being fully 10 bold in your life takes work.  As I said there are times that I just want to hide away under my blankets.

I believe in YOU!  I know you can do it!
